Today, at the ongoing ChiYoWo Summer Camp Programme 2025, the school children were exposed to ways of converting waste to wealth and produce some of their food while also taking care of their environment.

The facilitator instructing the participants
During the first session, titled “Sustainable Food Production”, the participants learned the importance of producing some of their own food and the benefits of food production without harming the environment. They were taught how to set up a backyard garden and were also given seedlings for practical application.

In the second session, the children learned how to upcycle waste papers, cardboard, and cartons to create valuable household items, such as flower vases. Working in groups, it was fascinating to see the children display teamwork and creativity, resulting in beautiful crafts.

We would like to extend our appreciation to all our facilitators, volunteers, and teachers for their invaluable contributions over the past few days. We look forward to an equally enriching conclusion to the Summer Camp Programme tomorrow.
