The ChiYoWo Summer Camp 2026 commenced with an impactful training on Sustainable Food Production and Recycling, introducing children to practical ways of transforming waste into valuable resources.

The participants learned how to grow vegetables using waste materials such as kegs, plastic bottles, bags, and other containers as planting substrates. A short educational movie on recycling further inspired them to embrace the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

The children also gained hands-on experience planting vegetables and received seeds of different varieties to establish small gardens in their schools. They were encouraged to take ownership of the gardens and become champions of sustainable food production within their school communities.

The ChiYoWo team will provide follow-up support to monitor the gardens and ensure their success.
Thanks to all our team members for the success of the Day 1 program. We look forward to having more of you in the Day 2.
