ChiYoWo Summer Camp Programme Commence with Movie Analysis

Monday, 11 August 2025 by access_admin

The proposed ChiYoWo Summer Camp Programme commenced today, August 11th, 2025, with an exciting session on Movie Analysis. The programme brought together school children for a fun-filled and educational experience.

Participants at ChiYoWo’s office for Summer Camp Programme 2025

The children watched the inspiring movie “Akeelah and the Bee” and took turns analyzing the plot, characters, and lessons learned. The teachers present facilitated the analysis, helping the kids extract key takeaways from the movie. The session was engaging, and the children actively participated, sharing their thoughts and insights.

The Movie Analysis session was a great success, and we look forward to tomorrow’s session, which promises to be equally engaging and educative.

The ChiYoWo Summer Camp Programme aims to provide a platform for young minds to learn, grow, and develop essential skills. Today’s session was a wonderful start, and we’re excited to see the impact it will have on the children.

The programme will continue for the next three days, featuring activities such as Read Aloud Sessions, Public Speaking, and Waste2Wealth/Sustainability talks. We’re confident that the children will leave the programme with new skills, knowledge, and unforgettable experiences.

ChiYoWo Summer Camp Programme: Children Participate in Read Aloud Session

Friday, 01 August 2025 by access_admin

Still basking in the euphoria of the Movie Analysis that commenced the ChiYoWo Summer Camp Programme on Monday, the children arrived today very elated for the second day’s programme, tagged Read Aloud Session. The session aimed to encourage and inspire the children to read books aloud with clarity in front of people and share the lessons learned.

The students’ performance was intriguing, especially when they read about “Why Some Animals Are Domesticated” from a book titled “Tell Me Why”. It was interesting to watch the children engaging in constructive arguments, and a big thank you to the teachers who guided the process.

Participants actively engaging with the facilitator

The Day 2 programme was made more engaging with a blindfolding game that taught the children the importance of seeking knowledge and understanding. The game illustrated that a person without knowledge is like a blindfolded person, struggling to reach their destination.

Special thanks to Anthonia Oniwinde and Ms. Ogunyemi Oremide for lending their voices and inspiring the children to embrace reading as a tool for excellence.

ChiYoWo Celebrating Boys on International Boy Child Day

Friday, 16 May 2025 by access_admin

At Children, Youth and Women (ChiYoWo) Empowerment Initiative, we believe that a boy today is a leader, father, and change maker tomorrow! The values we instill in our boys shape the men they become and the future they help build.

Boys are curious, resilient, and full of potential, but they need guidance, love, and encouragement to grow into confident, compassionate, and responsible individuals.

This year’s theme, “Boys of Honour,” reminds us all parents, guardians, educators, and mentors that every boy deserves the support to become a man of integrity, kindness, and strength.

By teaching emotional intelligence, modelling respect, and fostering inclusion, we are empowering boys to become:
✔ Confident leaders
✔ Caring partners
✔ Responsible fathers
✔ Compassionate citizens

At ChiYoWo, we are committed to investing in the next generation, showing our boys that we believe in them, value their dreams, and care about their well-being.

Happy International Boy Child Day! To every boy out there you are seen, you are celebrated, you are extraordinary.
