The ChiYoWo Summer Mentoring Hub has proven to be a transformative experience for both participants and mentors alike. The overall impact of the programme extends beyond just knowledge sharing—it has ignited a passion for innovation and provided participants with the tools and guidance necessary to turn their ideas into reality.
Through the mentorship and coaching provided, participants not only gained valuable insights but also developed tangible solutions that address real-world challenges. The creation of FEED EXPRESS and THE CONNECTO exemplifies the potential of the young entrepreneurs who joined the hub. These applications are a direct reflection of the innovative spirit, collaboration, and dedication fostered within the program.
Feedback from our mentors has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the participants’ eagerness to learn, their creativity, and their commitment to making a difference. The mentors expressed their satisfaction with the progress made during the programme and emphasized the importance of continued support to help these ventures scale and thrive.
In conclusion, the ChiYoWo Summer Mentoring Hub has laid a strong foundation for future cohorts and has demonstrated the power of mentorship in unlocking the potential of young entrepreneurs. As we look ahead, we are excited to continue this journey of empowerment, growth, and innovation, confident that the seeds planted in this hub will yield impactful ventures that make a difference in the world.
ChiYoWo held a Familiarization Meeting with Students Body
On Friday, 24th of January, 2024, ChiYoWo received the Executive-in-Council of Ikorodu Student’s Association in our office in Ikorodu, Lagos State, for a familiarization meeting .
The meeting availed us the opportunity to share ideas, discuss programs and projects of the organizations, and the need for a collaboration and partnership towards achieving our common goals.
We look forward to working together to help support the students through mentorship and intervention programs.
Once again, we appreciate the students leaders for the visitation and also for their laudable programs they have embarked on towards academic and personal growth of the students in their constituency.

The Award Ceremony: ChiYoWo’s World Creative and Innovation Quest 2023: Step Out, Innovate, and Solve a Problem Competition
ChiYoWo had a wonderful time celebrating with the winners of the just concluded Prize Award Ceremony of ChiYoWo’s World Creative and Innovation Quest 2023: Step Out, Innovate, and Solve a Problem Competition.
The Ceremony that took place online with a packed virtual room full of guests and partners was a testament to how excited we were to finally give out the Prizes to the deserving winners.
Emmanuel Obanijesu (Emlight – Reading Light) emerged as the winner (Branded Laptop and Cash Prize), followed by Umar Iman (Afrik Eco Designers – Recycling) as the 1st Runner-up (Branded Phone and Cash Prize) and Adefunke Bello (Waste Management Solutions) as the 2nd Runner-up (Cash Prize). In their acceptance speeches, they all pledged to continue to work to develop solutions that would positively impact their communities and the world.
It was an honour to have our Chairman of the Ceremony Dr. Ebenezer Idowu Ajayi deliver his keynote talk where he encouraged youth to, ‘Talk the talk; and walk the walk’, while they make changes to something existent or introduce new methods, ideas or products in the bid to find sustainable solutions to existing or new global challenges.
In addition, ChiYoWo announced and introduced the ChiYoWo Mentoring Hub – Sustainability Programme. According to the Founder of the ChiYoWo Initiative, Tokunbo Ifaturoti, “support from our volunteers and partners will be vital as we continuously dedicate time and effort to empowering youth, by offering a comprehensive platform for structured training, personalized mentorship, and invaluable practical experiences”.
Our thanks go out to our Organising Committee led by Onyeka Titigbe and Esther Temilade, our Judges, Viviane Adjado, Karen Miles, and Dumi Senda, to our partners, Stephanie Inneh (Talscent, the Handmade Sustainable Candle Making Company), Dr. Ajayi (Ebelola Bioenergetic Solutions/ STEMSEL Nigeria/ STEMSEL Foundation Australia) and all our volunteers and guests.

Entry Details: Maximum of 2 minutes video presentation of a scientific or artistic solution that can solve a social or sustainable development issue in your community. 1 original entry per participant.
Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Selection Criteria: Entries with the most ‘likes’ and ‘comments’ on our social media handles.
How to Participate:
- Age: 18-25 years
- Nigerian living in Lagos state and its environs
- Participants and supporters must follow us on all our social media handles
- Describe in your video and social media caption how your creation or innovation will contribute to sustainable development in the society
