ChiYoWo Visits Alaro Meiran Community – Book Drive 2018
Three schools came together Far Sights Schools, Fahove International School and Brought Brain School and took part in an inter-collegiate debate, leadership board game activity, spelling bee competition. The aim was to celebrate education, collaboration, and participation at the grassroot level.
Our Experience…
Uber Driver: Ma, why do you go to hard to reach areas like this one. Don’t you think more people want to collaborate with you if you work with only high ranking and profiled schools
Me (Toks): Maybe you are right but if we all concentrate on those schools who will reach the forgotten children and their schools?
3 hours later – Principal of host school: Thank you very much ChiYoWo for visiting our school! We love all the activities and how you interacted with our school and the 2 visiting schools. Thanks for the lovely books. May God bless you and your team richly…please don’t forget us and be sure to visit us again.
Community: Alaro Meiran, Lagos State
Total Journey Time: 5 hours
Conditions: Heavy traffic, rush hour, some good roads, roadworks, many potholes, flustered driver and sweaty Diva and bewildered volunteer (Francis) who met up with us and showed us the way.
Volunteers: Francis, Stephanie, Ubok, Wura and Me (Toks) 🙂
Supporting Team: The ChiYoWo Family!
It’s how we roll :)…
